Discover Parkdale

A Brief History

The community of Parkdale was annexed by the City of Calgary in 1910, but it wasn’t fully developed until 1948. Before its full development, there was lots of movement. From 1911 – 1913, six homes were built including heritage houses that are still standing today, over 100 years later. In its beginning years, there were two streetcars that provided access to this community. In 1952, the Calgary Board of Education opened the largest of four schools that were opened that year, Parkdale Elementary School, which continues to serve the community today. As Parkdale home builders, we spend a lot of time in the community and we’re excited to introduce you.
What Makes It Special
