Discover Lakeview

A Brief History

Six years after the City of Calgary annexed the land in 1960 the community of Lakeview was established. The community was so named due to its view of the Glenmore Reservoir. Lakeview used to be home to a thriving ranch, the Chipman Ranche Co. The ranch at one time had 1,200 cattle, Percheron stallions, and brood mares, quite a large operation back in the day.

In the glory years of the ranch many of the affluent people visiting Calgary would head to Chipman Ranche Co., visitors included royalty, business people, governer generals, and more established folks. Learn more about Lakeview’s history here. West Ridge Fine Homes has been building in the Lakeview community for many years and we’ve had the opportunity to watch it grow into what we see today.

What Makes It Special
Lakeview is in very close proximity to the Glenmore Reservoir which gives it extra value. It is a well situated community of affluent Calgarians who enjoy having the water nearby along with gorgeous hiking and cycling trails just moments away from your front door.
Community Association
Lakeview has plenty of amenities just outside its borders from the Earl Grey Golf & Country Club to the Calgary Canoe Club. These exclusive organizations have had a hand in uplifting the community of Lakeview to its current sought after status. A public swimming pool, athletic park, and public golf course nearby serve as great community amenities for professionals and families.
Location, Location, Location
Lakeview is one of the most sought after locations in the city. Its nearby amenities are enough to entice anyone from hiking and cycling trails to golf courses and the canoe and rowing clubs. Plus, with easy access onto Glenmore and Crowchild Trails, residents have simple daily commutes.
Why We Love Building Here
The main reason we love building homes in Lakeview is due to the incredible location. It’s not everyday in Calgary that a community has all the nearby amenities as well as extra perks. Lakeview Village is a subdivision of Lakeview that shows off the largest and most architecturally daring homes in the neighbourhood.
