Bearspaw was initially a Canadian Pacific Railway station, named after Chief Bear’s Paw, head of the Stoney Nations in 1906. The commuity of Bearspaw was first and foremost populated by dairy farmers and later invited farmers, ranchers, planned suburbs, and acreages similar to what we see today.
